2nd round of the Racing Sand France Championship 2012
Enduro Quad - Cyril Debouck
The weekend of the 4th and 5th December, the 2nd round of the France Championship of Sands took place at Saint Leger de Balson.
1:00 p.m. : the start is given to Cyril Debouck, number 13, who starts so in the 13th position (the position on the starting grid corresponds to the the pilot/quad number).
On its quad KTM 450 SX equipped with WP Trax (= Donerre Technology), he manages to find its footing in the early laps :
''From the first turns, I felt comfortable on this track very winding in black sand. On this circuit of 8km, my average lap time was 11 minutes.
First round finished, and 3 ranks won. Happy to find the pace early in the race, I forced myself to maintain this pace all being careful not to make mistakes because the weather was very difficult (rain throughout the race).
After 55 minutes of racing, I make my first stop : change of gloves and glasses, refueling, and here we go again for 1 hour.
During this stop, my mechanic tells me that I navigate between the 3rd and the 6th position, and also informs me that there are a lot of dropouts. Motivated, I decided to keep a good pace while keeping a margin for the primary objective which is to finish the race.
After 2:30 of race and 3 mandatory pit stops, I finished in 4th position, and signs the 3rd fastest lap.
In the provisional classification of the France Championship, I find myself in 3rd place behind Matthieu Ternynck and Anthony Cheurlin.''
Third and penultimate round of the Championship the weekend of 14 and 15 January 2012 !
